The Bird Goddess ruled over life and death. In the ancient world view the two were seen as completely connected and unified. Life gives way to death which in turn gives way to life. She is the Mother Goddess, Mother Gaia, the Divine Feminine, the fertile grounds of Creation, the bearer of life and the destroyer of the world. She awakens in us the ancient memory of our immortal and transcendent nature while showing you how to live in harmony with all of creation.
A hand built specially created Bird Goddess sculpture based on the ancient Bird Goddess figurines found in Cyprus dated at 1500BC to 2500BC. She came as a Vision for me to create as a centre piece at the ‘Reclaiming the Wild’ Exhibition for the offerings of feathers in honour of the Great Goddess. She clutches a baby to her breast to depict her powers of nurturance and how she supports, nourishes life to thrive. This figure has ‘pockets’ on her back to allow for feathers to be added in honour of the Great Bird Goddess.
She is 43cm tall
